In part 2 of my Trinova Tire Shine Spray review, I tested its durability over two weeks. The shine faded to a light sheen after one week and was mostly gone by week two. While it didn’t survive a wash, water beading showed some protection remained. Great for a subtle, clean tire look—just don’t expect long-lasting shine.

I tried a DIY tire shine with glycerin and water. Adding dish soap helped it spread and shine well at first, but it faded within hours and looked blotchy by the next day. It rinses off easily but doesn’t last, so commercial tire shines are more reliable.

I tried the popular baby oil tire shine hack, and while it gives a nice glossy look at first, the shine quickly fades within minutes. I tested its durability and water repellency, but found it doesn’t last or protect tires effectively. Baby oil might shine tires briefly, but it’s not a practical solution for lasting tire shine.
