Welcome back to Part 2 of my EXOforma Wet Tire Dressing review, where I take a closer look at how this product performs over two weeks of regular driving and a simulated rain test.

If you missed Part 1, I highlighted that EXOforma’s thicker, water-based formula allows for a no-drip application, but also made it difficult to apply evenly on tires with fine grooves and raised lettering. This led to some streaking, but thankfully, no sling after a short drive.

Let’s see how it holds up over time.

30 Minutes After Application

Immediately after drying, the tire had a rich, deep wet look that stood in stark contrast to the untreated control area. I smoothed out the visible streaks with a foam applicator, but in hindsight, a fine-haired brush might have helped me reach into those narrow grooves better and prevent uneven coverage. That’s something I’ll test in a future review.

Week 1: Holding Strong

Unfortunately, overcast weather on Day 2 and Day 3 made it hard to judge the product’s shine, but I could still see that the coating held up well. The tire retained a dark, hydrated look—proof that the product hadn’t faded much, even without direct sunlight.

By the end of Week 1, some fading and dust buildup became noticeable, especially in the smooth inner ring of the tire. Interestingly, the outer ring with more grooves retained its shine better, possibly because the recessed texture shielded the dressing from wind and road debris.

So while the grooves caused some streaking during application, they also helped the product linger longer, creating a consistent, shiny ring that held up well under regular driving.

Week 2: Dust, Dulling, But Still Present

Into Week 2, the shine continued to fade due to normal road grime and dust, but that’s to be expected with any water-based dressing. Despite this, there was still a clear difference between the control area and the treated section.

From a distance, the tire still looked dressed—even if the high gloss was gone. The darkened, uniform look remained visible, especially on the outer edges where the grooves had helped trap the product.

The Simulated Rain Test

Some Amazon reviewers complained that this dressing washes off easily in the rain. While this may be true, EXOforma clearly states that “prolonged exposure to water” will degrade the finish, and does not advertise rain resistance.

To simulate rain, I gave the tire a 5-minute rinse using various hose spray patterns—no scrubbing, no cleaners.

Results: The tire repelled water well. I noticed consistent water beading, even after prolonged exposure, suggesting the product was still embedded in the rubber. However, once the tire dried, the gloss was completely gone, as expected.

Still, the treated areas remained darker and more protected compared to the control section, indicating that some UV and rot protection persisted even after the shine faded.

Final Thoughts

The EXOforma Wet Tire Dressing held up well across two full weeks of everyday driving. Here’s what I observed:

Pros:

Deep, wet tire look after application

No sling when applied properly

Excellent water repellency (even post-rinse)

Maintains a dark finish longer than many dressings

Considerations:

Thick formula makes it harder to work into fine grooves

Not rainproof or wash-resistant

May need a brush applicator for textured tires

Shine fades over time, though some protection remains

While it won’t survive a storm, this product is still a solid performer in dry conditions and delivers the rich look many enthusiasts want. With the right applicator, it could become a staple in your detailing kit.
